Teaming North East musicians with remixers/producers and film makers

Generator and regional screen agency Northern Film & Media are now calling for emerging film makers to get involved in a three stage collaborative project teaming musicians, remixers and film makers – Sound & Vision.
After months of taking submissions from artists, allowing the public to have their say and selecting a final track for Sound & Vision, Generator and Northern Film & Media called for submissions from regional producers and remixers. We were all blown away by the quality and diversity of remixes submitted and are very pleased to announce that the final remix has been chosen.

Franco-Philippe's College Kids' Springbreak Remix of 'Sounds' by Jimmy & the Sounds
Franco-Philippe (aka Alex Hindle)'s remix is a French Electro tinged reworking of the anthemic indie original.

Teessiders Jimmy & the Sounds play heartfelt indie rock, like the Gaslight Anthem but with a distinctly North East twist - definitely ones to watch. 'Sounds' was released as a single on April 26th.
The other shortlisted original tracks, from Mammal Club, Viva City, Hellfire Club, France & the Habsburgs and Nadine Shah were all very well received - big things are expected from all six artists so keep an eye out for them.
We’re now looking for emerging film makers to work alongside Jimmy & the Sounds and Franco-Philippe to produce a music video.
The chosen film maker will produce an industry standard music video, to be launched at a high profile event later in the year.
And we are very pleased to announce that one of the world’s leading music film makers- Dick Carruthers - will mentor the chosen film maker throughout the process. Legendary film maker Dick Carruthers has directed and produced live concerts and DVDs for the biggest names in the music industry, including Oasis, Led Zeppelin, The Killers, Alicia Keys, The Who, Take That, The Rolling Stones and The White Stripes.
