The highly anticipated Apple iPad device is finally set for a UK launch on May 28th.The iPad was devised to occupy the middle ground between laptops and smart phones. It essentially has similar design features and functionality to the iPhone and iPod touch but is the size of a tablet computer, with an emphasis on users browsing the Internet, consuming music, media and games alongside creating their own content.

The Association of Independent Music (AIM) has expressed support for a new poster campaign orchestrated to stop the closure of 6Music and the Asian Network.

The UK Competition Commission has approved the controversial merger between live music giants Live Nation and Ticketmaster.The decision was widely anticipated as the merger was first approved last year. However, an appeal launched by German ticketing Company CTS Eventim prompted further investigation. The new corporate name for the merged company is Live Nation Entertainment.
