  • The Association of Independent Music (AIM) has expressed support for a new poster campaign orchestrated to stop the closure of 6Music and the Asian Network.
  • The UK Competition Commission has approved the controversial merger between live music giants Live Nation and Ticketmaster.The decision was widely anticipated as the merger was first approved last year. However, an appeal launched by German ticketing Company CTS Eventim prompted further investigation. The new corporate name for the merged company is Live Nation Entertainment.

  • Live UnLtd is a new lottery funded project offering young British entrepreneurs the chance to bid for funding to get their business aspirations off the ground.The format is similar to popular TV show Dragon’s Den, in which aspiring entrepreneurs pitch their business ideas to successful executives and will offer young people an opportunity to put their creative ideas forward in a bid for cash and professional expertise.
