Another app in the wall?

Pink Floyd are the latest legacy act to jump on the appwagon to promote their back catalogue.

The ‘This day in Pink Floyd’ follows apps from other emerging talents such as Sting and Jimi Hendrix and it is actually slightly cooler than your Dad suddenly getting into Twitter.

The app contains thousands of music facts covering 366 days of the year, a guide to all of the 167 studio tracks the band officially released alongside more than 100 Pink Floyd images, over 200 quiz questions and items of trivia, a free ringtone and two wallpaper screen images. What more do you want, Floyd fans? Sadly, it doesn’t come free with its own portable laser show.

It may not steal you away from shouting at Siri for not understanding your accent or from just one more go on Angry Birds during the commute but its certainly comprehensive and should fulfil all of your mobile prog rock needs.

The app is available on all of the usual platforms and you can find out more here and check out a video here.
