Artrocker Awards announced

As the memory of this week's AIM Award fizzles and the Mercury rises, The Gen can inform you that the second annual Artrocker Awards will take place on Friday 7th December 2012 at the Sebright Arms in London’s East End.

Artrocker is best known for its honest guide to new music and to reflect this has opened its polling stations to public scrutiny here.

The East End’s very own Django Django and TOY lead this year’s top picks with three nominations apiece.

Artrocker Editor Marc Sallis said, “The second annual Artrocker Awards will follow on from where the last one finished – at the bar. The Artrocker Awards are about the music, the bands and giving the industry and the public a great event with a line-up that will recall the heady days of The Brats and inject some much needed drunken fun and rock'n'roll back into the industry. It's Rock'n'Roll in its simplest and rawest form".

Taking inspiration from the old Brat awards, this year’s event will crown the winners of 13 award categories including the New Blood Award and Reissue of the Year Award.
