  • The first festival organised by broadcast group ‘Sound Women’ will feature some of the leading female names in UK Radio. Taking place at BBC Radio Theatre in London's Broadcasting House on Saturday 18 May in partnership with the BBC Academy, the event will feature a mix of speakers, music, poetry and comedy.

    WOMEX in Wales

    WOMEX will launch in Cardiff this year, with 6Music’s Cerys Matthews (pictured) confirmed as Artistic Director for a celebration of Welsh culture and music. Tickets are on-sale now for the event on 23 October, which is the opening concert of International World Music Expo WOMEX and takes place at Wales Millennium Centre’s Donald Gordon Theatre. 2,500 international world music agents, producers and festival organisers are expected to attend, with the line-up to be announced over the coming months.
  • The PRS for Music Foundation (PRSF) and Arts Council England (ACE) are set to launch the Momentum Music Fund at The Great Escape, as the event finalises its line-up for this year. Momentum Music is a new music industry talent development fund that the PRSF are delivering in partnership with Arts Council England and will launch on Friday 17th May to delegates and guests at The Great Escape.

    Line up for Liverpool

    Scouse-by-Scouse West returns, with 150 new artists and a whole new wave of panels announced for Liverpool Sound City and guest speakers covering topics ranging from tech, brand and sync partnerships to digital and the relationship between music and football.
  • The latest wave of acts playing at The Great Escape this year has been announced, with 50 new artists confirmed including Everything Everything (pictured) playing a Dome show, rising star Lulu James, Tribes and the return of Klaxons. Surely it isn’t time for the new rave revival already? People will actually be getting excited about a new album from The Strokes next.
