  • Young Musicians Fund was established in 1996 by Kathryn Tickell to develop the musical skills of children and young people in Tyne & Wear, Northumberland and Durham under the age of 18 who are struggling to pay for tuition fees or want help to purchase an instrument.
  • London venue The Roundhouse has joined forces with EMI to offer emerging musical talent the chance to use their live music studio and a top producer for each day of September this year.Launched in 2009, 30/30 is an innovative youth project aimed at discovering and cultivating emerging musical talent. Unsigned artists between the ages of 16-25 producing music across all genres are invited to step up for the opportunity.
  • BPI Chairman and Generator Board member Tony Wadsworth has been confirmed as a keynote speaker at the Great Escape.
  • Adele has tightened her grip on the UK charts further, breaking all-time records with ‘21’ topping the album charts for a tenth consecutive week. In addition, Adele has two tracks in the top ten singles chart, with ‘Someone like you’ jumping back up to Number one.
  • The Carriageworks in Leeds is hosting the Music Futures Conference on 30th March and with that in mind we've compiled a whole series of video highlights to whet the appetite. With an opening key note speech from Alison Wenham (AIM) and representatives from Universal Publishing, Island & Polydor, branding companies Frukt and digital platforms Pledge & The Orchard in attendance it promises to be a great day.
