30/30 Vision

Generator is teaming up with The Roundhouse, EMI and Livewire for this year’s 30/30, with a deadline of 01 October for artists to submit tracks.Over 30 days in November, 30 emerging artists from across the UK will record tracks in the EMI / PRSF studio at the Roundhouse with a top music producer, going on to release them on Roundhouse Records and perform at the ‘Roundhouse Rising’ event in February 2013 in London.

SBTRKT 8k Video Call Out

Generator has teamed up with screen agency Northern Film and Media to launch an £8K commission for a filmmaker to put together a new video for XL Recordings artist SBTRKT.As part of the Transmission project, five shortlisted filmmakers will produce a DIY video for SBTRKT’s ‘Trails of the past’ track, going forward to be interviewed by a panel including both agencies and a representative from the label, with the winner awarded a production budget of £8K to make the final product.

Young Musicians Fund deadline 3rd October

Young Musicians Fund was established in 1996 by Kathryn Tickell to develop the musical skills of children and young people in Tyne & Wear, Northumberland and Durham under the age of 18 who are struggling to pay for tuition fees or want help to purchase an instrument.

Roundhouse has 30/30 vision

London venue The Roundhouse has joined forces with EMI to offer emerging musical talent the chance to use their live music studio and a top producer for each day of September this year.Launched in 2009, 30/30 is an innovative youth project aimed at discovering and cultivating emerging musical talent. Unsigned artists between the ages of 16-25 producing music across all genres are invited to step up for the opportunity.

Adele reigns supreme over UK charts

Adele has tightened her grip on the UK charts further, breaking all-time records with ‘21’ topping the album charts for a tenth consecutive week. In addition, Adele has two tracks in the top ten singles chart, with ‘Someone like you’ jumping back up to Number one.
