  • Independent music mag Artrockerhas stopped the printing presses and will issue its first tablet-only publication at the end of this month.The London based magazine, founded in 2001 will now be available through Google Play and Amazon App Store on Android following a soft launch on the iPad in June 2012.

They are asking for recollections of how fans first discovered the label that launched the careers of Placebo, Coldplay, Idlewild, Art Brut et al- So, do you remember the furst time?

    Dotcom’s Mega launch

    Megaupload Founder Kim Dotcom is back, with the music industry equivalent of The Godfather Part II- the outrageous launch of his new cloud storage and file-sharing platform- ‘Mega’.Referred to as “The Privacy Company: Bigger. Better. Faster. Stronger. Safer”, Mega received 250,000 user registrations in the first two hours according to Dotcom’s tweets, going on to reach more than half a million in its opening 14 hours.

    PRS deals the ACE card

    The PRS For Music Foundation and Arts Council England (ACE) will launch the Music Industry Talent Development Fund this year, an initiative that aims to invest over half a million pounds in grants to emerging artists.The grants will be available to provide vital financial support to artists and bands in recording, writing, performing and touring projects, with an application process opening up in May and delivery handled by PRSF.
