Tyneside’s Detroit Social Club are set to top off an incredible 2008 (you know, just the usual- form band, get Arctic Monkey’s manager onboard, support Primal Scream and Razorlight on national tours, we’ve all been there. Haven’t we?) with a coupe of celebratory hometown shows.
David Burn’s band of psychedelic warriors play the following shows this month:
• Friday 19th December- The Sage, Gateshead (supporting The Futureheads)
• Wednesday 31st December- Carling Academy, Newcastle upon Tyne.
DSC generated a palatable industry buzz earlier in the year, not to mention some mountain sized anthemic tunes and inspirational live shows.
The Newcastle based six piece band were certainly the name on everyone’s lips at ‘In the city’ in Manchester this year and went on to release a self-funded independent single, ‘Rivers and Rainbows / Silver’ at the end of October which debuted at number 5 in the official U.K Indie charts.
