Hugely influential music blog and streaming site The Hype Machine has launched an iPhone app. The team behind the hype claim that the app will transform humble music blogs into almighty radio stations, stating: “We’ve created a seamless Hype Machine radio experience so you can tap on, kick back, and listen to a neverending stream of great music, complete with artwork and blog posts”.
Alleged magical properties aside, the app will offer the latest tracks uploaded to the site through affiliated blogs alongside the most popular tracks, tracks arranged by genre and what other users are listening to. However, users can’t search for, then play tracks (on demand), hence the whole ‘radio’ angle.
