Breaking news: another round of music awards. The Online Music Awards has launched a new category for emerging acts, with the finalists revealed in September.
The new category is called ‘Best British Act’ and open to all artists over the age of 18 that are unsigned or have been signed to an independent label for under 3 months and they can enter here. It will be sponsored by a caffeinated vodka drink called Dragon Soop, apparently a horrific mix of Vodka, caffeine, taurine, guarana which sounds like its bound to fuel the next outburst of widespread civil unrest across the UK.
The other categories for the awards include:
Best Urban Act
Best Rock Act
Best International Act
Best Dance Act
Best Pop Act
Best Music Video
Best British Act

Winners, as always, will be determined by a shadowy Bilderberg Group style gathering of ‘industry figures’.
Is anyone else suffering from awards fatigue? Barely a week goes by in the music world without some kind of gong being lifted, its like being stuck in a nightmarish Kafka-esque world of endless categories, panels and Chris Evans.
Stay tuned and get ready to thank god and your parents!
