Frankie Says "Give Peace a Chance"

Posted in Bands, News by Generator on Friday 18th of June 2010

Frankie and the Heartstrings are getting together with acclaimed British author David Peace for a special live show in the North East on July 3rd. Peace, whose books include the highly acclaimed ‘Red Riding’ quartet and The Damned Utd will open for the band with a reading at a benefit show for the Easington Miners Welfare. The event will also celebrate the launch of ‘No Redemption’, a book of photographs taken by Keith Pattison in Durham coalfields documenting the 1984-85 Miner’s Strike.

The Sunderland based band used some of the images as artwork on two of their recent vinyl releases and Peace has written a foreword for the book.

You can buy tickets from the venue of the event, the Easington Miners Welfare in County Durham for £3.

Frankie and the Heartstrings also announced an extensive UK tour this week, taking place in September and October of this year. For further details, all dates and to buy tickets check out their website.
