North East artists The Futureheads and Frankie and the Heartstrings have been announced to play at the O2 Academy in Newcastle as part of a series of live shows put together by Radio One.

The show will take place on Thursday 4th March and is the first in a live programme of ‘In New Music we trust' events within the City, promoted by Radio One. The Courteeners and Chapel Club are also on the bill.

This will be followed by an event on Friday 5th March in which DJ Pete Tong will broadcast a show live from the Digital club venue in Newcastle, featuring live appearances from Delphic and Japanese Popstars.
