Generator Chief Executive Jim Mawdsley (pictured) has been elected to chair the Music Development Association (MDA)
As previously reported, Mawdsley wrote a campaign paper for the MDA in July entitled ‘Levelling the playing field’ in which he set out the future of music development in the UK, making an argument for increased Government support.

Mawdsley said: “We have to set the agenda for what we want to achieve as a sector and outline the support that we need to grow and nurture enterprise. The music industry is a major contributor to the UK economy and our role should be to encourage more people to turn their passion into a career.”

The MDA is a network for music development agencies and organisations with the collective aim of providing a forum for the discussion and promotion of issues affecting music sector enterprise and activity.
