High profile Independent Record Store Rough Trade is using Twitter to ask fans where they should open a new store in the UK.
Rough Trade, founded by Geoff Travis alongside the record label of the same name currently has three successful outlets is London and is seemingly looking to expand despite the global downturn in the sale of recorded music.
In 2009, it was reported that Rough Trade East (pictured), opened in London during 2007 was defying the recession and proving to be a resounding success. This was a clear exception to the high street gloom experienced by music retailers over the last few years, with chains such as Zavvi and Fopp falling into administration in the same year as Rough Trade East opened its doors.
Cities included in the poll and up for consideration include Newcastle, Edinburgh, Manchester, Dublin and Brighton. Go to the ‘Twitpoll’ and vote here.
