MAMA joins the party

Posted in Festivals, News by Generator on Tuesday 23rd of October 2012

Live venue and artist management company Mama Group has bought a 50% shareholding in leftfield live promoters All Tomorrow’s Parties (ATP).

ATP is famous for weekend events at UK holiday camps curated by underground musicians and the ‘I’ll be your Mirror’ shows at Alexandra Palace in London. As part of the new deal, they will assist with booking talent for MAMA operated festivals including Lovebox, Wilderness and The Great Escape.

ATP founder Barry Hogan was forced to restructure the company earlier this year, putting one business into administration, after a challenging year for the UK festivals market.

Speaking about the partnership, Hogan commented: "We're thrilled to be joining up with MAMA who have been supportive of us throughout the years. The ATP team is looking forward to working with Dean and the rest of the MAMA staff to develop ATP events throughout the world".

CEO of MAMA Group Dean James added: “ATP’s pioneering attitude and its success in the international market, combined with MAMA’s infrastructure of major festivals and venues is a dangerous combination.”

This week, MAMA also appointed Rich McGinnis as Head of Talent, with responsibility for booking artists for its various festivals and venues. McGinnis has co-founded nightclub brands including Circus and The Warehouse Project and Parklife festival.
