Maximo Park recently unveiled details for their third album and a comeback single. The LP, entitled Quicken The Heart was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Nick Launay and will be released by Warp records on May 11th. The follow-up to 2007’s Our Earthly Pleasures will precede the group’s upcoming UK tour, which starts with two sold-out consecutive hometown shows at Newcastle O2 Academy on May 13th and 14th.

In other regional band news, White Belt Yellow Tag, one of The Gen's ‘Super 8’ tips at the beginning of the year recently signed a recording deal with Independent label Distiller. Also, The Futureheads, recently started recording material for their next album, with band members posting updates from their Twitter account, after the first day of recording in Sunderland, stating: “Album 4 is up and running. Officially. Mint”.
