MPG re-master awards

The BRITS isn’t the only show in town this week, with the Music Producer’s Guild celebrating the best production talents throughout the music world including Jamie xx (pictured), Ethan Johns and Steve Lillywhite.

As previously reported, Beggars Group founder Martin Mills was also officially crowned king of the independent Music world with an ‘Outstanding contribution to UK Music’ award.

Ethan Johns, who had worked with Kings of Leon and Ryan Adams received the first BRIT of the year at the awards at the Café de Paris in London on February 16 for ‘Producer of the year’.

Steve Levine, chairman of the Music Producers Guild, says: “Our Awards shine a spotlight on the important contribution recording professionals make to the UK music industry and the UK economy. The fact that this event is always so well supported indicates the value the wider music industry puts on the work recording professional do. Audio professionals have a unique place at the very heart of the music industry”.
