The latest ABC magazine circulation figures reveal that printed music publications continue to drastically fall in sales and circulation, with the entire sector dropping by almost 5%.
NME, published by IPC media dropped 17.3% year on year to 33,000 weekly sales for June 2010. Showing a similar trend, Bauer Media’s monthly Q magazine dropped 10.7% to a circulation of 89, 450. Other titles such as Uncut, Mojo and Metal Hammer also experienced a significant drop in sales.
Despite what is evidently a downward trend across the traditional music media sector, metal title Kerrang! experienced a 1.8% increase in sales and legacy magazine Classic Rock sustained its readership with no change in either direction.
