National Festival Round-up- The latest announcements!

Following on from last month’s festival overview, we bring you the very latest announcements and additions to UK music festivals!

 

Evolution, the North East's premier home grown event has added three more acts since the last Gen; Detroit Social Club, Ebony Bones and the legendary and inspirational Human League all appear on the best value for money event in the nation this year. Day tickets are still available from the Evolution website, HMV stores, RPM, O2 Academy and Beatdown.

 

The Leeds / Reading weekend headliners were recently confirmed to be Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys and Kings of Leon.

 

Prodigy, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Maximo Park, Bloc Party, The Gossip, Vampire Weekend and Glasvegas also feature on the line-up of the festival, which takes place over the August 28th- 30th Bank Holiday weekend this year.

 

Meanwhile, The Pet Shop Boys, Grace Jones and Nick Cave and the Bad will be headlining the Latitude festival this year.

 

The festival takes place at Southwold in Suffolk between July 16th-19th, also featuring a full range of performance stages devoted to theatre, comedy and poetry. Other big music names confirmed to play so far include Doves and Editors.

The former Pulp star will play the boutique festival in Huntingdon, which returns this year on July 23-26 with the mystical theme of 'Eden and Babylon'.

 

Other acts confirmed so far include Team Waterpolo and The Golden Silvers.

 

DJ Eddy Temple Morris is this year’s 'Patron Saint Of The Secret Garden Party', curating many of the festival's dance elements, while attractions will include a Gentlemen's Club and Holistic Camp.

 

Kraftwerk, MGMT, Klaxons, Fleet Foxes, Massive Attack, Seasick Steve and Bat For Lashes will all play Bestival on the Isle of Wight this year.

 

Squarepusher and Friendly Fires will also play at the event, which takes place between September 11th-13th.

 

The End of the Road Festival is happening again from Friday 11th September - Sunday 13th September 2009 at Lamer Tree Gardens, North Dorset. Already confirmed for this intimate 5000-capacity festival are Fleet Foxes, Okkervil River, Explosions in the sky, The Broken Family Band and Magnolia Electric Co.
