London venue The Roundhouse has joined forces with EMI to offer emerging musical talent the chance to use their live music studio and a top producer for each day of September this year.
Launched in 2009, 30/30 is an innovative youth project aimed at discovering and cultivating emerging musical talent. Unsigned artists between the ages of 16-25 producing music across all genres are invited to step up for the opportunity.
Selected tracks created throughout the month will be compiled for the 30/30 Album, released digitally by Roundhouse Records with all proceeds going back into projects that benefit young musicians. The acts chosen by the Roundhouse team will then have the opportunity to put their questions to a panel of industry experts.
Oli Kluczewski, Music Programme Coordinator at the Roundhouse said: “30/30 is all about developing and nurturing a thriving musical community of emerging artists and putting them together with top flight music industry professionals”.
North East based act Ajimal was selected for the project last year and recorded the track ‘Wolf’. Ajimal, whose actual name is Fran O’Hanlon told The Gen that 30/30 is a “Fantastic scheme with really cool producers involved…and it was great to work with the Roundhouse.”
The submission deadline for 30/30 2011 is 18 July and application details can be found at the 30/30 website.
