Running up that hill

The Tunstall Hill Sessions are shaping up to be the North East equivalent of the popular ‘Black Cab sessions’, with unique and offbeat outdoor performances from artists such as The Futureheads and members of Maximo Park.

The sessions, all filmed around the green open space area of Tunstall Hill in Sunderland are gaining a lot of attention, with the Guardian music blog mentioning them recently.

To check out an utterly berserk rendition of ‘Hounds of Love’ featuring Futureheads singer Barry Hyde and a Jew’s harp, go here.

Other artists featured so far include Coal Train (pictured) and The Lake Poets.
