Sound & Vision

Building on the success of last year's competition, Sound & Vision 2008 was launched in July, when 56 musicians each submitted one minute music clips to Generator. 10 music clips were chosen and posted up on the Northern Film & Media website in September for film makers to listen to before selecting their favourite clip and submitting their 1 minute film idea.

These films have been developed within a strict budget – Imagination was not only required in order to maximise the limited resources available to each creator but also with regard to engaging the core visual and musical ideas behind each piece of work.

The seven commissioned Sound & Vision films are now available for you to view and vote for your favourite. A gala screening will take place early next year showcasing the Sound & Vision films made, and the winning musician and filmmaker will be awarded a prize of £3,000 to make a short film together.
