Music streaming site Spotify recently announced that they are in the advanced stages of introducing an artist recommendation feature to the service. This will function in a similar way to music recommendation sites such as Last FM and retail sites like Amazon, using technology that will actively track listening habits and purchases.
The initial stage of this is already available in the form of a ‘related artists’ tab that can be accessed whilst listening to tracks to identify other music that the listener may be interested in.
