This month we turn our almighty lighthouse beam towards Wearside and take a closer look at the forthcoming Split Festival.
Taking place on Sunday 4th October at Ashbrooke sports club in Sunderland, the festival aims to provide a truly stellar line-up of North East musical talent. Past, present and future- it's all here. From the reformed Field Music (pictured above) to The Futurehead’s first North East live show of the year and placing legends such as Milky Wimpshake and Penetration alongside new pop upstarts Frankie and the Heartstrings, it has certainly accomplished this.
The festival will take place over two stages at the cricket ground from 2pm until 9pm. In addition to the music, expect comedy, street theatre and market stalls.
The musical line-up so far is as follows:
Main Stage
NARC Stage
Milky Wimpshake
Moleck
Sona Di
O'Messy Life
Tickets cost £19.50 in advance and are available from Ashbrooke sports club, Hot Rats Sunderland, SUN FM, Sunderland Echo, See Tickets and RPM Records Newcastle.
