Tune in to Domino

Domino Recording Co has taken over the airwaves, broadcasting on their own radio station 24 hours a day for this week only. Guest presenters include members of Domino signed artists such as Animal Collective, Franz Ferdinand and Wild Beasts alongside Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream.

Speaking to The Guardian about the ‘pop up’ project last month, Domino co-founder Laurence Bell said: "It is important for us to keep pushing ourselves. We don't do these things to make money obviously. We do them because we want to contribute and because we enjoy representing creativity on different levels."

A description on the Domino Radio website sets out a manifesto: “In the spirit of such stand-alone broadcasting giants as Radio Caroline, John Peel Show, Rinse FM, The World Service and Woman's Hour - and dispensing with such orthodoxies as play-lists and compliance - Domino Radio commences transmission on June 6th 2011, for a week of non-stop music, conversation and good times”.

The label will be broadcasting shows from both sides of the Atlantic and you can tune in to Domino Radio on 87.7FM in London or listen online here. Founded in London in 1993, Domino has grown into one of the most respected and successful Indie labels on the planet and looks set to score another Number One in the album charts this week with Arctic Monkeys’ fourth LP offering, ‘Suck It And See’.
