Following storming performances at Glastonbury, and with trips to T in the Park, V and Fuji Rocks still to look forward to, we had a chat with Detroit Social Club frontman David Burn about their Glastonbury gigs.

What was the experience like?
It was my first time at Glastonbury, but obviously I've experienced loads of other festivals. None of them compare to Glastonbury though. Luckily we were playing on Friday, so had the rest of the weekend to enjoy! The place is amazing. Such a buzz being there, nevermind playing it twice!
How were the crowds?
Amazing, because it's Glastonbury, everyone is smiling, and up for a good time. They seem so much more responsive than on a cold wet Thursday night in Coventry. We were moved forward a bit due to our two gigs clashing, so ended up being the first band on at the John Peel tent for the weekend, where Temper Trap only got a few hundred people last year. We had nearly 2000 people in, the biggest crowd for an opening band in 7 years apparently, so you can’t ask for much more than that. Especially as we clashed with Rolf Harris! The second gig was just as good, and they had all had about 8 pints by that time, so were even more up for it!
What sort of response did you get?
Brilliant, from walking on, to even just saying something daft; everything was greeted with a mass response. Since the festival, we've had great reviews and reactions from people on Facebook, MySpace and in magazines and websites.
What else did you do at the festival?
Haha, I can’t remember! I only saw a handful of bands, staying up for three days means everything kind of rolls into each other. I didn’t even see the band really! Thom Yorke was outstanding, and Stevie Wonder. Disappointments were Editors, and MGMT. I spent a lot of time up at Stone Circle talking to strangers, mentally unfit for anything else!
Any memorable incidents?
Probably none that can be published on a website or magazine such as Generator!
What other festivals will you be playing this summer?
We've got T in the Park on Sunday, then we're off to Japan at the end of the month for Fuji Rocks. Then it's back to do V festival, and a few festivals over in Germany. We've been lucky enough to have done Isle of Wight and Ibiza Rocks this year as well, so we're really enjoying the festival season!
