Paul Smith (Maximo Park) and Richard Milward (author, ‘Apples’) in Conversation

A kind of cultural job swap, this event will take Richard Milward and Maximo Park's frontman Paul Smith and explore their love of the other's art form.

Richard Milward may be best known as the bard of the 'Borough but his other passion is music. Both a theme and an inspiration, his work teems with musical references and pulses with the druggy beats of teen-pop and club tunes.

Like Richard's relationship with music, Paul has been praised for his highly literate songwriting and has spoken frequently about his love of books. This event will give both artists a chance to talk in depth about their secret loves and share with fans the books and music which have shaped their lives and work.

Paul and Richard will also perform a DJ set after the performance of Apples.
