Northern Stage, Newcastle

Representatives from two of the world’s largest music conferences will be visiting Tyneside on September 1st to explain the opportunities available for artists and industry professionals at MIDEM and SXSW  in 2011.

Generator visited SXSW for the first time in 2010 on behalf of the region’s music industry and will also be outlining their plans for next year and how businesses and acts can get involved in activities including showcases and samplers at these events and at others. Attendees can find out more about how they can benefit from Generator’s activities and how they can register their details to receive updates from Generator.

MIDEM in Cannes, France and SXSW in Austin, USA attract huge numbers of musicians and industry representatives with more than 2,000 bands and 13,000 industry representatives attending SXSW this year and more than 4,500 businesses at MIDEM, the world’s largest music industry trade fair. This introductory seminar is hosted by Generator on behalf of UKTI and British Music and is one of a number taking part across the UK in August and September.

The session will include presentations from Javier Lopez (Midem), Una Johnston (SxSW) and Phil Patterson (UKTI), with plenty of time for Q&As.

Topics covered by our expert guests will include:-

About Midem and SxSW

  • How to apply for a showcase slot
