SXSW & MIDEM BRIEFING EVENT

DO YOU WANT TO ATTEND SXSW & MIDEM?

Our friends at UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) are hitting the road again this summer, bringing special guests from international music conferences such as SXSW (USA) and Midem (France).

Generator invaded SxSW in Texas this year, and took North East music to Liverpool Sound City and The Great Escape. Find out what we’re planning next year while guest speakers tell you how to export your music or music business and make the most of opportunities in the UK and abroad.

Guest speakers include Una Johnston (SXSW), Javier Lopez (MIDEM), Phil Patterson and Philippa McEvoy (UKTI Music Industry Specialists) and more.  

The session will include presentations from many conference guests, with plenty of time for Q&As.  The event takes place at Newcastle’s Live Theatre on Wednesday 31st August, 5-7pm.

The talk will be followed by an hour of networking drinks to get you in the trading spirit.  Here you'll have the opportunity to meet our guests face to face and to talk to representatives from AIM, BPI, FAC, Musicians' Union, MMF, PRS for Music, Liverpool Sound City and The Great Escape.  Special guests present at the Newcastle event include Keith Harris (PPL/Music Tank), Kelly Wood (Musicians' Union) and Claire McNeil (AIM).
