Northern Film and Media, on behalf of One North East have recently announced a short extension for applications for the North East Content Fund - a £1m investment fund designed to generate production in film, TV, games, interactive media and music. It aims grow the commercial creative industry base.
While the funds were recently distributed among 14 Film, TV and games companies, it is vital that the region's music industry comes forward with strong development and production ideas. Funds like this are essential for the growth of the region’s music business and we are more than happy to help companies develop applications for this deadline and when the fund comes back on board in March (with a currently projected up lift to £2.4 million)
In short, the fund will invest in feature film, TV, games, interactive media and music. Applicants can apply for a maximum of £200,000 for production costs and a maximum of £50,000 for development. Applicants can be from either inside or outside of the North East region. Northern Film & Media will look for returns on its investment to put back into the sector in the region.
The extended closing date for applications is 20th November 2009.
