Chepstow in Wales is hardly where someone who was scouting for a rapper would look, however due to the power of YouTube, former comedian Elro has been able to expose his unique brand of witty lyricism and wordplay to the world, with over 1.5 million views on his SB.TV warm up session, tracks with Mike Skinner under his belt the unlikely rapper is set for big things.
Taken from his new mixtape, 'Porcelain Corpse', is the latest track to be attracting attention to Chepstow’s finest ‘Scrabble.’ The perfect title for a track that is centred around wordplay (despite the fact that Elro has admitted to having never played the board game), the track sees him team up with Roll Deep’s Manga and Boy Better Know’s JME both of whom are known for their quirky styles which feed excellently from Elro and result in three verses that refer back to and feed off one another in a very unique style. Team this up with some production from Grime’s man of the moment Preditah and a stop-motion visual on Vice Magazine’s ‘Noisey’ music channel and you’ve got a winner!
