UK dubstep producer Lurka is doing his thing but this isn’t your regular wobbling kind of dubstep record, this is some deep minimal business. 'Blank', which has been put out as a free download, starts out with an array of ambient sounds that set the scene from the start of the track. There is also a vocal stab implemented that sounds like it has just come off Butch’s tech-house anthem 'No Worries'.
As dubstep continues to transform and mould into different shapes, Lurka draws comparisons to UK producers such as Burial for his arrangement and creation of atmosphere on this track. After a few clicks and simple hand claps the track starts to sound a little bit like Benga’s '26 Basslines', the two tracks could be mixed into each other nicely for sure. It is definitely refreshing to hear such natural sounds incorporated into a track of this genre, and Lurka is certainly one to look out for in the future.
