Getting Your Music Seen: PR & Promotion Essentials with Matty Aston
Join music publicist Matty Aston from Super Cat PR for a practical workshop exploring how artists can build visibility and get their music in front of the right audiences.
Whether you're preparing for your first release or looking to sharpen your promotional approach, this session will break down the fundamentals of music PR and show you how to create momentum around your music. You'll learn how to write an effective press release, approach media outlets at local, national and international levels, and plan promotion around a release.
Drawing on real-world industry experience, Matty will also demystify the role of a PR agency, helping artists understand what professional PR support involves, when it's worth investing in external help, and what can be achieved independently at different stages of a career.
With dedicated time for discussion, participants will have the opportunity to share their release plans, ask questions, and receive tailored advice to help shape their next steps.
Who is it for?
This workshop is aimed at emerging and early-career artists who are planning a release and want to strengthen their approach to promotion. It's particularly valuable for those without existing PR support, as well as artists looking to better understand how to build awareness and connect with audiences through a mix of DIY and professional PR strategies.
